Dr. Joe Thompson Delivers Overview of Latest Milestone in the Evolution of U.S. Health Care

At somewhere in the neighborhood of 2,000 pages, recently passed health care reform legislation will affect every aspect of our health care system and represents a major milestone in health care's continuing evolution.  ACHI's policy and data teams have been working to identify the opportunities and challenges presented to Arkansas as a result of the new legislation.

On May 18, Dr. Joe Thompson delivered an informative overview of the U.S. health care system during a lecture hosted by the UAMS College of Medicine.  During his presentation, Dr. Thompson noted some of the issues that prompted reform; outlined the overall strategy behind new legislation and the timeline for implementation; and discussed the implications for Arkansas.  Click here to view a video recording of Dr. Thompson's presentation.  A copy of Dr. Thompson's presentation slides is available here.
