Arkansas School BMI Reports Click here for Arkansas Statewide BMI Assessment Report Year 5 (Fall 2007- Spring 2008) The statewide analysis of BMI data collected in public schools during the 2007–2008 school year includes overall childhood obesity trends in Arkansas, and weight classification percentages by gender, grade and ethnicity. Appendices included in the report show overall BMI results by school, school district and by county.
Please note: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently revised childhood obesity terminology. ACHI will adopt the new language for the 2008–2009 Child Health Reports sent to parents of Arkansas public school children and the School BMI Reports. The term "at risk for overweight" will be changed to "overweight" and current use of the term "overweight" will be changed to "obese."
Note: Readers should be aware that occasionally the BMI classification results for schools and school districts may vary slightly between the individual School Reports and the overall statewide report. The differences between the two types of report are due to the ways in which individual students are classified by grade, school, or age for analysis. The difference in results reported between the two reports may be up to 3 percentage points.

Overall statewide data for the year 4 Arkansas BMI assessments among public school students has been published in Year Four Assessment of Childhood and Adolescent Obesity in Arkansas (Fall 2006-Spring 2007) (released by the Arkansas Center for Health Improvement, Little Rock, AR, September 2007). The analyses by public health region was performed by ACHI staff in October 2007. Note that results are presented only for those public school students enrolled in grades K - 12 who had a valid BMI assessment.
